In 2006, together with AFM Church Mochudi, Youth for Christ Botswana started the Tapologo Day Care Centre for Orphan and Vulnerable children. Tapologo is the Setswana word for “a place of care.” The school started due to the ravishing effect that HIV/AIDS had on the family and many children were left either orphaned or with one parent that could not take care of the child (vulnerable). The children come to the school in the morning where they receive a healthy meal and snack. We are using the ACM (Africa Child Mobilization – a Christian curriculum) curriculum.  There are currently two full-time teachers, a cook and assistant teachers. The children are not asked any fees and the partners have to raise the funds to keep the school in operation. Through the years, over a 100 children have been helped by this project. The school is situated in Boseja South Ward of Mochudi – not far from the National Office of Youth for Christ Botswana.
